There was this blind old man that was always begging for arms from one household to another. The only thing he always say was:

“If you do good, you are doing it for yourself
If you do bad, you are still doing it for yourself”

He always visit Olófin’s house and Olofin will give many gift to the blind man. One day, Olofin wanted to test what the man always say.

On this faithful day, the blind man went out as usual and with the same saying. When he got to Olófin’s house, Olofin handed one big bag to the man. The blind man was so happy because the sack is so big and heavy but not knowing it was a big cobra snake inside the sack. But the blind man took the sack with happiness and left with joy.

The blind man went to one corner to rest. As he was resting, Olófin’s first son saw the man with the big sack in his hand. He felt so bad and he wondered why his father would always give many good things to this useless man all the time. He was so angry that he snatched the sack from the man all of a sudden. The man couldn’t see and you know what the man said??? He said:

“If you do good, you are doing it for yourself
If you do bad, you are doing it for yourself”

Olófin’s son didn’t even pay attention to what the blind man was saying. He shook his hand into the sack surprisingly for him, he was welcomed by the venom of the cobra. As he was crying and rolling on the floor, they quickly went to inform his father (Olofi}. Before he could reach there, the boy gave up. Olófin sat on the floor, cried and realized what the blind man always says :

“If you do good, you are doing it for yourself
If you do bad, you are doing it for yourself”
